Materials:

3 skeins of DK weight yarn in your desired color(s)

Crochet hook in size G/6 (4.0mm)

Stitch markers


Instructions:

Chain 3.

Row 1: Double crochet into the 3rd chain from the hook. Turn.

Row 2: Chain 2 (counts as first double crochet), double crochet into the same stitch. Double crochet into each stitch across. Turn.

Row 3: Chain 2 (counts as first double crochet), double crochet into the next stitch, chain 1, skip 1 stitch. Repeat from * to * across, ending with a double crochet into the last stitch. Turn.

Row 4: Chain 2 (counts as first double crochet), double crochet into the next stitch, chain 1, skip the chain-1 space. Repeat from * to * across, ending with a double crochet into the last stitch. Turn.

Repeat Row 4 until your shawl reaches your desired length. You can also change colors as desired to create stripes or other color patterns.


Edging:

When you've reached your desired length, work the following edging:

Round 1: Chain 1, single crochet into the first stitch, chain 3, skip the next stitch, single crochet into the next stitch. Repeat from * to * across, ending with a chain 3 and slip stitch to the first single crochet.

Round 2: Chain 1, single crochet into the first chain-3 space, chain 5, single crochet into the next chain-3 space. Repeat from * to * across, ending with a chain 5 and slip stitch to the first single crochet.

Round 3: Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), double crochet into the same stitch. Chain 1, double crochet into the next chain-5 space, chain 1, double crochet into the next single crochet. Repeat from * to * across, ending with a chain 1 and slip stitch to the top of the first chain 3.


Fasten off and weave in ends.
